  • Patriots QB Mac Jones on whether he will start against the Giants Hope s
    D delmermollie 0

FOXBOROUGH, Ma s. (AP) Mac Jones didnt have any answers about who the New England Patriots' starting quarterback will be against the New York Giants on Sunday, either.A day after Patriots coach Bill Belichick stonewalled in his media availability about whether Jones would be benched, the 2021 first-round draft pick said he is preparing as if he will start, even though the coaches appear to be undecided.Hope so. I mean, thats the plan, Jones said when asked directly if he will start. A lot of that decision-making is things I cant control, but I can control my attitude and my effort.Just as Belichick repeatedly fell back on everybody needs to be ready to go in his availability on Tuesday, Jones pulled out the standby, Im focusing on what I can control. The third-year quarterback said the word control 13 times during his 8 minute, 23 second media availability on Wednesday; Belichick dropped ready 14 times on Tuesday in 8:21.ADVERTISEMENT Weve had good conversations, Jones said. Really what Ive been focusing on is what I can control. Put a lot of thought into that, the things that I can control. Thats what I can do, control what I can control.Jones, who went for X-rays for an undisclosed injury after https://www.deredwings.com/collections/jim-rutherford-jersey the 10-6 lo s to Indianapolis in Germany on Nov. 12, also said that he had some bumps and bruises but isnt limited in participation coming out of the week off.I have things that Im working through; everybody does. Youre playing NFL games every week. Every weeks a car crash in its own way, so youre trying to get back from that, he said. The bye week definitely helped get the body back, and Im looking forward to finishing this thing strong.Jones has started each of the first 10 games this season, but he has been pulled three times twice for blowouts and once, in the Week 10 lo s to the Colts, after throwing a fourth-quarter interception near the end zone. With a chance to rally the Patriots, Bailey Zappe was 3 of 7 for 25 yards and finished by throwing an interception on a fake-spike play to seal the game.Zappe, a fourth-round draft pick in 2022, appeared in four games, starting two both wins last season. The Patriots also have Will Grier, who started three games for Carolina in 2019, on the roster and rookie Malik Cunningham on the practice squad.Earlier this week, offensive coordinator Bill OBrien said Jones, Zappe and Grier all took reps in practice with the first team during the off week. Jones said he wouldnt let that derail him.You take advantage of the reps youve had, right? he said. Ive played a good amount of snaps in the NFL, I feel confident that I can go out there, feel prepared based on my preparation, film study and all those things.Jones said he learned from watching the quarterback competition at Alabama, when Tua Tagovailoa won the starting job and Jalen Hurts transferred to Oklahoma. Jones took over as the starter when Tagovailoa was injured late in 2019 season, and then he led the Crimson Tide to the national championship the next year.I witne sed everything. I heard every conversation, watched everything, watched every move between each guy, Jones said. So I learned a lot about both of them, and I learned a lot about myself, too, just trying to learn from their situation, and talking with Jalen, Tua, and having those friendships is always good.___AP NFL: https://www.deredwings.com/collections/kris-draper-jersey

  • Buccaneers trade rumors Jerry Jeudy Mike Gesicki among deadline options to help fix Tampa Bays offens
    D delmermollie 0

The Buccaneers entered the 2022 NFL season with high hopes, but they haven't quite lived up to expectations through seven weeks. Tampa Bay enters its "Thursday Night Football" game against the Ravens with a record of just 3-4 on the season. The Bucs started the year 2-0 but have gone 1-4 since, including in Week 7. The Buccaneers are still tied for first in the NFC South despite their struggles, and there remains plenty of time for Tampa Bay to turn things around. The team still has plenty of talent on its roster, so things should eventually start clicking. That said, it would behoove Tampa Bay to add to its roster as it looks to capitalize on the twilight of Tom Brady's career. That may mean making a move as the 2022 NFL trade deadline draws nearer. MORE: Who could the Buccaneers trade for in 2022, and at which positions do they need help? Below is a breakdown of Tampa Bay's top trade targets before the Nov. 1 trade deadline pa ses. The Buccaneers have a handful of needs as the 2022 NFL trade deadline arrives. That said, the biggest problems for the team come on offense, where at least a couple of spots remain unsettled after offseason retirements. &# https://www.nyislanderswin.com/collections/ken-morrow-jersey 13;Left guard: Rookie Luke Goedeke grades as Pro Football Focus' 72nd guard this season out of 77ranked players. The Central Michigan product has upside, but he isn't ready for the limelight and has allowed a whopping 21 pre sures this year. The Bucs need to upgrade here to give Brady better protection. Tight end: Rob Gronkowski is retired and unlike Brady, doesn't appear to be coming back. Rookies Cade Otton and Ko Kieft have performed well in their roles, but veterans Cameron Brate and Kyle Rudolph haven't lived up to expectations. As such, adding a veteran to pair with Otten and Kieft would make sense. Wide receiver: Receiver isn't theneed for the Buccaneers, but Julio Jones hasn't stayed healthy this year while Ru sell Gage hasn't been very effective either. There are some qualityyoung pa s-catchers on the market, so Tampa Bay might add one at the right price to further enhance its pa sing game. Linebacker: It's not just offense with which the Buccaneers need help. The defense has some holes too, particularly in the middle of the front seven. Devin White is having a poor year, so the Buccaneers could look to upgradethere or at least bring in a veteran to challenge him for playing time. Defensive line: The Buccaneers have maintained a solid pa s rush even without the team's second-leading sack artist from 2021, Ndamukong Suh, but they are short on talent on their interior line with Akiem Hicks (foot) sidelined. As such, adding a rotational player with good pa s-rushing skills makes sense. Jerry Jeudy, WR, Broncos The Buccaneers could get by without a receiver, but if they really want to go all-in as Brady's career winds down, they could target some of the best options on the trade market. Jeudy would qualify, as the Broncos are reportedly listening to calls about him and a few other players Bradley Chubb, Albert Okwuegbunam and KJ Hamler. Jeudy would be a big-time upgrade for the Bucs and could have star potential working with Brady. The former first-round pick has 24 catches for 386 yards and two touchdowns this season and could be a field-stretching threat thanks to his 16.1 yards per catch average. Jeudy is on a cost-controlled rookie deal, so adding him wouldn't be too difficult for Tampa Bay. He would instantly be a weapon for this team and would allow Ru sell Gage to serve as a primary backup as he struggles to develop chemistry with Brady. MORE: Elijah Moore, WR, Jets Moore is another receiver that fits the Jeudy bill for the Buccaneers. The 22-year-old is young and is under contract through the 2024 season, so his salary would be easy enough to fit on the books. Moore has requested a trade away from the Jets as he struggles to get targets from Zach Wilson. That said, he has generated 59 catches, 741 yards and five touchdowns during his first 17 career games (12 starts) so the upside is there. He would fit nicely in Tampa Bay as an inside/outside threat, and his speed and shiftine s could spark the offense if used properly. Chase Claypool, WR, Steelers Claypool hasn't regained the form that saw him post 62 catches, 873 yards and nine touchdowns as a rookie, but he hasn't played with a quarterback like Tom Brady. He would be a nice addition as a down-the-field weapon and could look to replace some of what Jones was meant to provide thanks to his 6-4, 238-pound frame and blazing speed. Of the receivers listed, Claypool probably has the lowest upside, but he also comes on a cheap contract that will make him a solid rental for a year plus. That could make the Buccaneers consider him, provided that a bidding war doesn't ratchet up the price. Mike Gesicki, TE, Dolphins This represents the Buccaneers' best option to replace Rob Gronkowski via trade. Gesicki isn't the blocker that the future Hall of Famer was during his career, but he is a good pa s-catcher and would open the middle of the field for the Buccaneers. Gesicki is playing on the franchise tag so he would be only a rental for the Buccaneers. He has 18 catches for 197 yards and three touchdowns this season but could be better if he had more stability at quarterback. The Buccaneers might not need to add a top tight end if they are confident in Cade Otton, but Gesicki would give each of Tampa Bay's three tight ends a role. Gesicki would be the primary receiver, Otton would be the do-it-all player and Kieft would primarily serve as a blocker. IYER: Andrew Norwell, OG, Commanders If the Buccaneers can replace Goedeke with a veteran, that would go a long way toward helping Brady, who has often struggled during his career against interior pre sure. Norwell has been far from perfect this season he has allowed four sacks (most among NFL guards) and committed four penalties (second-worst among NFL guards) but still, he is a veteran and has surrendered fewer pre sures than Goedeke. Norwell (6-6, 310 pounds) has started 118 of 119 games in his career. He could be a plug-and-play upgrade for Tampa Bay, so long as he isn't washed up at age 31. Elijah Wilkinson, OG, Falcons Wilkinson is another guard option for the Buccaneers. The 27-year-old UMa s product is quietly enjoying the best season of his career with the Falcons and is graded as PFF's 20th guard of 77 qualifiers. The 6-4, 329-pound blocker also has tackle experience and is on a cheap, one-year deal. As such, he could be an ideal challenger for Goedeke. The only i sue is that Wilkinson is currently playing for division rival Atlanta. The Falcons may be reluctant to make a trade with the Buccaneers as they are neck-and-neck in the postseason race. (Getty Images) Roquan Smith, LB, Bears It seems unlikely that the Buccaneers would trade for a linebacker unle s they swing big at the position. Devin White does have a good skill set, after all. He is just having a down year. That said, if the Bears make Smith who has previously asked for a trade available, the Buccaneers should jump at the chance to add the instinctive, do-it-all linebacker to the fold. He is on pace for 189 combined tackles, 10 TFL, six sacks and five interceptions this season. He and Lavonte David would surely be an elite duo. The only i sue would be signing Smith long-term given Tampa Bay's cap constraints. Of course, teams are often able to manipulate the salary cap to get top-tier players, so the Buccaneers could find a way to do it. They could also try to include White in any trade to defray the draft capital cost; it's unclear whether the Bears would want him amid his struggles. MORE: Bradley Chubb, EDGE, Broncos Edge rush isn't a huge need for the Buccaneers. They average 3.1 sacks per game, good for the fourth-most in the NFL, but contenders can never have too much depth at the position. Chubb is among the best pa s rushers rumored to be available. He has logged 5.5 sacks and would add high-quality depth to Tampa Bay's defense behind Shaquil Barrett and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka. He also would add an element to the Buccaneers' run defense given his strong 6-4, 275-pound frame. Matt Ioannidis, DL Panthers The Buccaneers would more likely pursue an interior defensive lineman than an edge player. That makes Ioannidis an ideal target. The 28-year-old has one sack and 15 tackles in six games this season, but he once had 8.5 sacks in a season for Washington in 2019. Ioannidis' pa s-rushing presence would help replace Ndamukong Suh, which the Bucs haven't yet done properly. And with another strong pa s rusher in tow, perhaps the performance of William Gholston (zero sacks) will improve as well. https://www.nyislanderswin.com/collections/mathew-barzal-jersey

  • Community Ownership. The way forward or a management doomed to failur
    D delmermollie 0

As the Tranmere fans of this world will know. The clubs ownership has recently been in the spotlight regarding a takeover from the Tranmere Rovers trust who are launching a scheme to raise funds for a purchase of the club. This would enable the Rovers to be owned and run by its loyal followers, and allow fans to play a major part in allowing the club to make positive strides.Other projects similar to this include Accrington Stanley who last month announced a chance for fans to own shares of the club, and Scottish Premier League side St Mirren who like Tranmere are running a Trust named 10000 Hours which allows there Scottish following to voice their opinions, on how there club is run.And although a lucrative and exciting prospect https://www.canadienshere.com/collections/florian-xhekaj-jersey as it sounds for the SWA, the trust is a long way off from achieving there aims. The trust fund held a meeting last night to outline their proposal, but fans, onlookers and observers all echoed similar feedback that although the initial plans look promising, there is still a lot to be done if they are even considered by current chairman Peter Johnson. One time Apprentice candidate, and Rovers fan Christopher Farell who also attended the meeting on Twitter told a fan I think they have got a long way to go yet, idea is there but they need a busine s planThe BenefitsIts clear for all super white eyes to see that although a good servant for the club, busine sman Johnson has neither the will power or bank balance to take the team to the next level, after leading them from the foot of the football league to where they are today. Fresh faces on the new management board could see cash injection, and the potential for an exciting new beginning at Prenton Park. The club being owned by the community would presumably have reaps of benefits for the important faces of the football club, the fans. With fans being given the opportunity to have a say in how there club is run could see more community projects within the area, increased local employment, financial sustainability, and most of all, give the community its independence for the team they so dearly love.A community run project as big as the ownership of Tranmere Rovers, will always make ideas and decisions with the interests of the clubs welfare at heart. Presumably the disastrous ownership of the Cowboy Americans from next door was heard from acro s the Mersey, which consequently would of sent warning signs to all clubs like Tranmere that the bank balance of an investor does not automatically a sume they are the next best thing for their team. A club run by its people would ensure there were no lousy busine smen/women who apparently are experts on the timing of the firing of the manager, and know which players to buy and get rid of, yet are cluele s when asked how the offside rule operates. The RisksFor all those who want to see The Rovers succeed, would welcome a community ownership run by its fans. With all the positives of a project taken into account however, the club would also have to addre s the negatives, and the weakne ses of the bid. For example the Trust would need technical aid, and expert advice if they were to proceed with their ideas as although the pa sion and money doesnt seem to be a stumbling block, there knowledge of running a big busine s like a football club be it a Premier League side, or a Blue Square Premier side, is one that shows inexperience making it potentially a very difficult and stre sful project.Theres no doubt that Football in the modern day game, is a big busine s. There is an argument that a community run busine s in a ma sive market could add limitations for the club. Although the trust plans to raise a minimum of 300 000 in backing the scheme and the takeover would offer financial stability to the club. I sincerely doubt there is a fan out there willing to inject millions into the club whereas some non-Community projects would be able to invest the amount needed nowadays to be in the big time, and although currently this seems a long way off, the trust are looking at short term and long term plans, and a rise to the Premier League would surely be on the agenda of their Long term aims. But despite these potential weakne ses, if the trust ensures they are organised and form a Busine s plan worthy of running a football club, there should be no reason why the trust cant proceed, and succeed where many other trust funds have failed, in sustaining ownership of their club. CLEVELAND (AP) For the second straight year, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski has made a major offseason change to his staff.Offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt has parted ways with the team, leaving just days after Cleveland was blown out in the https://www.avalanchewin.com/collections/alexandar-georgiev-jersey wild-card round by Houston and following a season in which the Browns were ravaged by injuries.A team spokesman confirmed Wednesday that Van Pelt is no longer with the Browns. Also, Stefanski fired running backs coach Stump Mitchell and tight ends coach T.C. McCartney was not retained after his contract expired. The shakeup might not be over as the Browns continue to hold staff evaluations.ADVERTISEMENT They've quickly moved on from Mitchell and are interviewing Duce Staley to be his replacement. The 48-year-old Staley was most recently an a sistant head coach and running backs coach with Carolina before being fired.Following a 7-10 season in 2022, Stefanski fired defensive coordinator Joe Woods and special teams coordinator Mike Priefer. Those moves led to the hiring of Jim Schwartz, who turned Cleveland's defense into one of the NFL's best this season, and Bubba Ventrone, who dramatically improved special teams.Van Pelt's departure is a surprise. It was immediately known if he was fired or resigned. He and Stefanski appeared to have a strong relationship, and just last week Van Pelt praised his bo s for the job he did during a challenging season.Hes awesome," Van Pelt said of Stefanski, who has led the Browns to the playoffs twice in four seasons. "Ive enjoyed every second with him. Hes coached a lot of football, different schemes. His ability to change on a dime based on who this player, his starter is at quarterback I thought has been really remarkable."But the me sage, the culture hes built here over the last four years, Im really proud to be on his staff. However, while Van Pelt helped in putting game plans together, Stefanski handled all play-calling duties on game day. Van Pelt may have wanted an increased role and wasn't going to get it with the Browns. It's also po sible Stefanski is looking for someone to help him better suit Cleveland's offense to quarterback Deshaun Watson, who made just six starts before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury and undergoing surgery. All three a sistants had been with Stefanski since he was hired in 2020.The Browns went 11-6 and made the playoffs this season despite a wave of injuries and having to start five quarterbacks. • Sheldon Richardson Alex Smith is a game manage
    D delmermollie 0

Calling a quarterback a "game manager" is often taken as a dig. However, defensive tackle gave us our umpteenth le son that context is paramount. You'll https://www.athleticsjersey.com/spencer-rattler-jersey remember that the have two quarterbacks who turn the ball over like they get paid by the blunder. So after studying in advance of Sunday's tu sle at Arrowhead Stadium, Richardson offered this a se sment of the ' quarterback: "Game manager," Richardson said, . "Doesn't make mistakes. Protects the ball and lets his defense work for him. Manages the game. He's got a great running back (). He's just doing what he's supposed to do. Nine touchdowns to his tight ends, none to his wide receivers? Yeah, he's managing the game pretty well." The "game manager" label has been one pinned to Smith's jersey since he was in San Francisco. In K.C. he doesn't have the weapons to stretch the field -- nor generally a desire to do so -- as he's averaging just 5.6 yards per pa s attempt, the lowest in the NFL. Last week he averaged 2.0 yards through the air per attempt, with his deepest pa s being 12 yards (completed). Smith might not uncork the long ball often, but at least he's not throwing a bevy of picks trying to get deep -- , on the other hand threw three pa ses of 15-plus yards last week, all were intercepted. might not have the wow factor, but he's been extremely solid this season -- especially behind a mediocre offensive line -- and made plays to win his team games. • Does video technology have the X Facto
    D delmermollie 0

In the last few weeks I have enjoyed some entertaining, fascinating and gripping feasts of football which have, unfortunately, been marred by a series of unfortunate events that have led me to question a few things and also reopen an age old debate.Modern football seems to be entering an interesting phase where X Factor culture seems to dominate. No matter what magic happens during the main event, we often find ourselves drawn into a debate about the referee, in the same way the viewers of the X Factors attention is diverted from the acts to a semi-staged sub-plot involving two of the judges. What is the reason for this? Are referees fed up of playing second fiddle to the superstars on the pitch? Has their job been made harder by the varying interpretations of rules such as handball or a dangerous tackle? Or has the increased pre sure, given whats at stake these days, led to an array of contentious decisions? All of these questions seem to point to one answer video technology. But is it all its cracked up to be? I mean, it works in rugby, cricket and tennis. Why cant it be used in football? After all, it would end the seemingly never ending saga involving referees.Personally, Im not overly interested. I feel we have coped perfectly well for https://www.penguinsfaith.com/collections/tom-kuhnhackl-jersey over 100 years without it. I dont buy into a challenge system as is suce sful in cricket or tennis. However, I do believe it should only be used for the matter of fact incident of whether the ball cro sed the line as there is,unfortunately, too much at stake to get decisions like that wrong. The problem I have is as follows what gives us the right to use video technology to retrospectively ban a player? Over the past few weeks, we have seen Balotelli and Cabaye retrospectively banned for their part in alleged stamps or kicks. However, the same panel of experts didnt consider Lescotts forearm smash or Crouchs eye gauge punishable incidents.Im not here to make a point of the overseas players being punished and the English players being let off. The point I am making is that all of these incidents are, rightly or wrongly, subjective. Its not advanced technology deciding whether Cabaye meant to kick out at the Brighton player, its the expert watching the playback. We are forever hearing ex players fondly reminiscing of the time they got a good kicking from the centre half the same ex players who are condemning a hard tackle because its a borderline red.FIFA seem determined not to let us rule on matter of fact incidents such as whether the ball cro sed the line but let us get away with subjective, retrospective action against a player. Why has our game changed so much? https://www.penguinsfaith.com/collections/marcus-pettersson-jersey

  • Chris Golic NFL Combine invite should be a rewar
    D delmermollie 0

NFL Evolution will feature a guest columnist every Tuesday, each with a different viewpoint of player health and safety from the youth level to pro football. By Chris Golic, NFL Evolution columnist Last week, all the talk was about the NFL and the performance of the 300-plus athletes in attendance. An invitation to the Combine is college football's version of a golden ticket. In 2012, of the 253 players selected by teams on day, 216 of them were guys who had attended the Combine. The opportunity to demonstrate their physical talents in front of every head coach and general manager, along with an invaluable interviewing proce s, can definitely elevate their chances of making a roster. Every college player knows the value of a Combine spot, and that's why I would love to see the league use the Combine as more than just a tool to evaluate talent. I want to https://www.bruinsbelief.com/collections/jaromir-jagr-jersey see the NFL use it to send the me sage to guys that what you do leading up to the Combine matters. I propose that the NFL only allow players who have been able to stay in good standing while in college to attend the combine. Guidelines would need to be set, but a retooling of the entry proce s for the most important job interview in football is long overdue. For starters, if you can't stay academically eligible in school or have a major run in with the law, you should lose the luxury of a Combine invite. I am not saying these players cannot or should not be drafted, but rather that the Combine should be a reward to those talented players who did things the right way on and off the field. I believe the selection proce s as a whole needs work. I have seen a high character guy who was a four-year starter pa sed over for the Combine while a guy who quit on his team midway through the season and lost his starting job receive an invite. This does not seem consistent with the values and standards of the NFL. While college is certainly a time when young people learn and grow by making mistakes, it does not excuse the poor judgment demonstrated by some who neglect academics or break the law. As young men, these players must realize that they alone are responsible for their actions, and too often very few things can make an impre sion on them regarding their choices. I believe that if you start impacting their opportunities to play in the NFL, it might get their attention. This could help with some of the recent player-conduct problems the league has faced. Even if it doesn't, there is something to be said for sending the me sage that doing things the right way does matter. Change will never come unle s we start demanding it. This past weekend, my husband Mike and I spoke with 600 youth and high school football coaches and administrators from around the country about the positive changes that are happening within the sport. Now the time has come for all of us to expect better and do better, as parents and coaches working together for our young athletes. The Heads Up Football program is establishing standards for the way things should be done on the field in terms of tackling and football fundamentals. There would be no better feeling than to be able to point to best of the best in sports at events like the Combine and be able to say that the expectations and standards are changing from top to bottom. We'd all best get on board. Christine Golic is the NFL's Consultant on Youth Football and a member of the Heads Up Football Advisory Committee. The Houston Texans brought in a bunch of new faces this offseason as they have adopted an all-in approach for the 2024 NFL season, anticipating that they have a Super Bowl window. The biggest move in the bunch was trading for Buffalo Bills , who's been one of the most consistent and productive receivers in the game since he was drafted back in 2015.Diggs should continue to post over 1,000 receiving yards each year in Houston, as he did in Buffalo and Minnesota before that. https://www.sharksbelief.com/collections/kasper-halttunen-jersey It takes time to build chemistry with a new quarterback though, and Diggs still literally has to get acclimated to his new home, which is much different than his two previous NFL cities. Speaking with reporters earlier this week at training camp, Diggs compared the heat in Houston to "what hell kinda feels like."Safe to say Texans WR Stefon Diggs has had a good experience with the heat in Houston so far:Ive played in two extremely cold places. I imagine, being here, this is what hell kinda feels like (Via ) Nick Schwager (@NickSchwagerNFL) Diggs may have personal experience that we are unaware of, but we've always thought of hell as having more of a dry heat, which would mean humid Houston is actually worse. In any case, this current Texans team may be better than any of the Vikings or Bills squads that Diggs has been a part of before, and that's saying something. The long road to get back to the NFL field is now over for . The star linebacker suffered a devastating spinal cord injury in December 2017, fueling fears of paralysis. He's since beat those concerns and continued to rehab with hopes of one day beating the odds and returning to the field for the , but he's now decided that's not the best course of action going forward. He's instead announced his retirement from football, in an emotional me sage to all."When I was five years old I made the greatest https://www.blackhawkswin.com/ discovery of my life: I discovered a game I love, the game of football," Shazier said in . "Ever since then, I've given my life to the game. I love everything about it -- playing it, practicing it, studying it, watching it, talking about it and thinking about it. Football gave me everything I could ever want and more. It taught me about hard work, dedication, teamwork."It took me to college and the NFL. It made me money and gave me a life that most people could only dream about. I'm here today to make sure the world loves how much I love the game of football."Shazier went on to show his eternal appreciation to the Steelers, their fans and all who pulled for him along the way."...I also want to thank the people of Pittsburgh," . "You have been with me through the good times and the rough times, but never more than through my recovery. ... And thank you to everyone all around the world who prayed for me. I need your strength and your spirit, and you gave it to me."... When I got hurt, football may have been taken away from me, but everything it gave me is still here inside. I am incredibly grateful for that and I am truly excited now to discover what's next."A former 15th-overall pick of the Steelers in 2014, Shazier proved himself worth the selection, going on to garner a Pro Bowl nod in 2016 and 2017, respectively, before suffering the aforementioned injury. The upside on Shazier was tremendous, as also evidenced in how he was named First-Team All-American and First-Team All-Big Ten just ahead of the 2014 NFL Draft. His perseverance has been a motivation to all, and the Steelers continued to honor him by keeping him on the team's reserve list and choosing to pay him in 2018 -- despite having the option to rescind his fifth-year option -- during his recovery. His football career has now officially come to an end, but the future remains bright for a player who could've gone on to be one of the best to ever play the game. https://www.blackhawkswin.com/collections/blackhawks-custom-jersey

It's training camp https://www.canucksplayer.com/collections/kirk-mclean time, and that means joint practices between NFL teams is also on the docket. Most teams engage in these, because it's a good way to find out how well the stuff you're trying to install will work against offenses and defenses you're not calling. But two teams are not about that. The Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders prefer to keep their practices in-house. On Tuesday, Andy Reid explained exactly why the Chiefs don't engage.I think the way we go about it I think we go fast, we practice hard, we do those things amongst ourselves, and the guys challenge each other, and I dont think theres a better way to do it, if your guys are willing to do that. Our guys are up for that challenge, plus youre not giving things away, so you cant help but do that. Then youre not having those skirmishes that you get in these inner squad deals, and no matter how much you talk - you put on a different uniform, youre the enemy. It doesnt matter if its during joint practices or not.The first time the Chiefs will see an opponent in the 2024 preseason is when they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville on Saturday, August 10. https://www.canucksplayer.com/collections/noah-juulsen-jersey

  • Madden Ratings Week 2 analysis Week 3 prediction

EA SportsJohn Lennon once sang that instant karma was going to get you and knock you right on the head. Whether or not you are a superstitious football fan, it is interesting that the two teams who implicated the in Deflategate, the and , both sit at 0-2 while the are 2-0. I'm not saying there's any correlation, just making an observation. After all, you'd have thought the had ratted out the , too. Actually, you'd have thought they were also responsible for Ben Affleck's "Daredevil" and Ryan Reynolds's "Green Lantern" based on how bad they've looked. Yikes. But calm down, everyone. It's only been two weeks. Let's wait until at least Week 4 before hitting the panic button. Some teams, like the and , will be playing their first home games this Sunday, and we all know there's no place like home.So sit back, relax and enjoy some new Madden ratings.Moving On UpHow about a big round of applause for ! Wait, where are you guys going? Come back! Okay, so Heyward-Bey https://www.rangersplayer.com/collections/kaapo-kakko-jersey may not be a wide receiver in the making, but it's good to see him playing a role in the ' high-octane offense. His performance last week (77 yards and a touchdown) earned him a two-point bump up to 72 OVR. Let him enjoy the moment, people.Let's give a little love to the kickers. kicker is up three points to a 78 OVR after hitting a 54-yard field goal and four extra points against the . Not too shabby for the 24-year-old from Temple. quarterback got a two-point bump up to 81 OVR after his monster performance against the last Sunday. Maybe dropping the long sleeve undershirts helped? Regardle s, Carr definitely has the fan base excited, and with new toys and to throw to, he should continue to climb up the ratings.Moving On Down is down two points to 90 OVR. Another bad outing Sunday could see him drop below 90. I think Luck's got a fever, and the only prescription is more neck beard. So while dropped two points, only dropped one point to move down to 79 OVR. ? I gue s the good folks at Madden have much lower standards for Bradford than they do for Luck, which makes sense. saw a drop in his rating, down a point to 96 OVR. But with coming back to breathe new life into the Legion of Boom, I expect Sherman to have a field day Sunday against the .Great Caesar's Ghost is down only one point this week to 91 OVR. One point?! I'm not trying to pile on the here, but did you see Murray last week against the ? I don't know if he offended his offensive line before the game, but he should be thankful he's still rated above a 90 in the game.Six bold predictions for SundayEA Sports6.'s return to the is great for their defense, but it doesn't fix their i sues on offense. Seattle is averaging just 4.9 yards per play on offense, fourth worst in the NFL. They also have to find a way to work into their offense. Graham has just seven receptions for 62 yards this season, his fewest through Weeks 1 and 2 since his rookie year in 2010. The tight end is clearly frustrated by his role, something even coach . But with the return of Chancellor and the making their season debut in front of the 12, I expect Graham and to finally click against the and connect on a couple of touchdown pa ses. It'll be a joyous day for fans and owners alike.5. will start Sunday for the , but will finish the game for the . Seriously, what is Mike Pettine thinking? Sunday's win over the finally gave fans a glimpse of the old Johnny Football we remember so fondly from Texas A&M. He and have clearly developed a strong rapport, connecting on three touchdown pa ses of 50-plus yards in the first two weeks. The rest of the NFL has thrown just six touchdowns of 50-plus yards. What more does Pettine want? Love him or hate him, Manziel was a first-round draft pick by the in 2014, and they need to know whether he's their long-term solution at quarterback. McCown is never going to win a as a starter. The guy is like the Rob Schneider of the NFL: no matter how bad he is, he keeps finding work. Manziel might not be a polished quarterback just yet, but he's got more of a future in Cleveland than McCown.4. The will not lose Sunday to the ... by more than 20 points. I'm not trying to upset the fan base down in Duval County, Fla., here. I think the are a good young team with some nice pieces in place. They just need a coach who knows what to do with them (sorry, Gus Bradley, you're not that guy). Plus, when you go up against and the offensive juggernaut that is the (in Foxborough, nonethele s) your chances of winning are slim to none. But again, that doesn't mean I think it will be a complete blowout. Jacksonville has a top 10 defense while New England's is fourth worst in the league. The ' defense looks promising up front, but their secondary can be a liability. New England will win, but not in conventional blowout fashion. So, you've got that going for you, Jacksonville.3. will throw his first interception at Lambeau Field after going 545 attempts without a pick at home. I know, it's almost blasphemous to say considering the reigning league MVP hasn't been picked off at home since Week 13 of the 2012 season against the (Millennial Fun Fact: The top movie in America that weekend was "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2"). Seeing Rodgers throw a pick is about as rare as seeing not throw a pick, but, alas, it does happen. The will pull out the win against the , but Rodgers will have one minor blip on his stat line.2. The look bad. Like Jonah Hill "Superbad". Seriously, they look like the before version of every lackluster team in a Walt Disney feel-good sports movie. I'm not sure if these birds have any Gordon Bombay magic in them, especially after what we saw last week against the . Chip Kelly needs to prove he's the mastermind peoplethought he was when he was handed the keys to the car at the beginning of the year. I think the are bad, but with the NFC East wide open right now, I think Kelly and the somehow find a way to pull out a must-win victory Sunday against a red-hot defense. Bold may be an understatement for this prediction.1. The situation in Indy is reaching a breaking point between coach and general manager, but come Sunday in Tenne see it'll be sunshine, lollipops and rainbows (everything that's wonderful). Sure, the have done their best to rekindle memories of the 2011 squad that helped bring to Indianapolis, but Luck is 6-0 in his career against the and 16-2 overall against the AFC South. It may be 's home debut, but Luck and the will rea sert themselves as the team to beat in the division. Maybe then Chuck Pagano and Ryan Grigson will get matching BFF tattoos! Okay, maybe not.Colin J. Liotta is a Digital Features Editor and Writer for NFL.com. You can follow him on Twitter . https://www.rangersplayer.com/collections/dave-maloney-jersey

  • Analyst highlights huge problem facing Ravens in upcoming draf
    D delmermollie 0

The have a lot of work to do in Je https://www.athleticmore.com/ryan-bujcevski-jersey se Minter's first offseason as head coach. With the draft quickly approaching, the Ravens still have many needs that have to be addre sed, and as we know, they all can't be fixed in one draft. Losing Tyler Linderbaum looms as a ma sive lo s for Baltimore, as is Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar, leaving Lamar Jackson with only Mark Andrews at tight end. The defense also has plenty of problems despite signing Trey Hendrickson. And for NFL.com's Dan Parr, he's highlighted how dire the situation is for Baltimore. "The lo s of three-time Pro Bowler Tyler Linderbaum in free agency leaves a major void at center, and Baltimore should be on the lookout for potential upgrades at guard, too," . "Theres a huge question mark on the interior defensive line with Nnamdi Madubuikes status still unclear after he mi sed last season with a neck injury. "Adding playmakers for Lamar Jackson is never a bad idea, either. Finding a bigger receiver to complement Zay Flowers would make a lot of sense as the squad looks to bounce back from an injury-plagued 2025 season." More: What should Ravens prioritize? For me, it has to be center. After losing Linderbaum, a three-time Pro Bowler, I was a little surprised the Ravens didn't look to free agency to get his replacement. Who starts for Lamar in Week 1? Corey Bullock? That won't exactly fill fans with too much excitement. Maybe someone like Jake Slaughter or Logan Jones could be options in the draft, but again, having a rookie center for a team looking to win the Super Bowl is far from ideal. So, the Ravens have some key decisions to make over the coming weeks, and most center around the offense. There are a lot of holes to fill, and only a handful of draft picks to fill them with. • Ezekiel Elliott injury update Cowboys RB could miss Week 8 game with knee issu
    D delmermollie 0

Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is likely to mi s the Week 8 game against the Bears after suffering a sprained MCL in his right knee and a thigh bruise in last week's win over the Lions, according to .Dallas coach Mike McCarthy told reporters Elliott wouldn't practice Wednesday and would only focus on rehab, but declined to say whether he thought the veteran would be able play Sunday. The 27-year-old running back has taken on a larger workload than last season as Dak Prescott's absence forced the Cowboys to take on a more run-based approach. Elliott scored two touchdowns in the win over Detroit but averaged only 3.8 yards per carry.MORE: Elliott has mi sed only game due to injury in his career, though he played through a torn PCL last season. If Elliott is forced to mi s any time, Tony Pollard would become Dallas' lead running back. Pollard is the only other back on the Cowboys' roster with NFL experience. Here's what you need to know about Elliott's injury status heading into Week 8:According to Hill, Elliott isn't expected to play against the Bears and could use the next two weeks as an extended bye. The Cowboys' bye week immediately follows the matchup against Chicago. However, Elliott isn't giving up hope for Week 8, telling reporters Wednesday, "We've still got a lot of time before Sunday," and adding that he's focusing on getting his knee healthy.Ezekiel Elliott isnt ready to rule himself out of Chicago game because of what a source called a hyperextended right knee that has caused swelling, bruising. Weve still got a lot of time before Sunday, he said. Right now Im focused on getting this knee as healthy as I can. Todd Archer (@toddarcher) Considering the Cowboys' bye is on the horizon, Elliott should be in position to mi s only one game if he can't play against Chicago this weekend. Dallas heads to Green Bay to face the Packers in Week 10 before critical games against the Vikings and Giants.Elliott acknowledged the appeal of getting two full weeks of rest could https://www.placejersey.com/argentina-jersey be a factor in whether he plays in Week 8."I think that is a consideration," Elliott said. "But it just depends on how I feel by the end of the week going into the game."1. Ezekiel ElliottThough he played through an injury last season, Elliott has rarely mi sed time with injuries in his career. He has 443 yards and four touchdowns on the ground over seven games this season, averaging 4.1 yards per game. Elliott is averaging 15.6 carries per game, so the Cowboys will have a vacuum to fill if he does mi s Sunday's game.2. Tony PollardPollard will be in line to soak up most of Elliott's carries if the veteran is forced to mi s Sunday's game. Pollard made a big impact for the Cowboys last season with 1,056 scrimmage yards, and he's averaging 9.6 rushing attempts per game this season.Though he's used as a change-of-pace, pa s-catching back behind Elliott, Pollard has been extremely efficient with 5.6 yards per carry this season. If Ezekiel Elliott doesn't play, Tony Pollard said he is ready. He has never had more than 14 carries in an NFL game. "I mean whatever they ask of me to carry, I got it," Pollard said. "They call it, Im gonna haul it." Todd Archer (@toddarcher) 3. Malik DavisDavis operates as the Cowboys' No. 3 running back and could be a factor if Elliott is forced to mi s time. Undrafted out of Florida earlier this year, Davis was elevated from Dallas' practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Lions and has yet to receive a touch in a regular season game. That could change if Elliott mi ses Sunday's game and no outside additions are made by the Cowboys.Elliott is still playing on the huge contract he signed in September 2019. That got him $90 million over six years, with $50 million of that guaranteed for an average of $15 million per season. That pricey extension goes through the 2026 season.Elliott is making $12.4 million in base salary in 2022, with bonuses bringing up that salary cap hit to be $18.22 million. In '23, those numbers fall to $10.9 million and $16.720 million. https://www.placejersey.com/sevilla-jersey

  • Mahomes leads the Chiefs on a TD drive to remember to win his third ring and third Super Bowl MV
    D delmermollie 0

LAS VEGAS (AP) The San Francisco 49ers gave Patrick Mahomes two opportunities to in They should have known who doesn't at this point? that it was one too many. After leading the Chiefs downfield late in regulation, only to settle for a tying field goal with 3 seconds left to force overtime, Mahomes capitalized on his second chance. The Chiefs' sturdy defense held the 49ers to a field goal of their own, and with the ball back in his hands, Mahomes marched the defending champions right downfield on He scrambled for a pair of first downs, including one on fourth-and-1 with the game on the line, and was 8 for 8 pa sing on the drive. The last of the throws may have been the easiest, a 3-yard to s to Mecole Hardman to finish off the heart-stopping 25-22 victory, and give one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history his third Super Bowl ring.ADVERTISEMENT This is awesome, Mahomes said simply. Legendary.Fitting way to put it for a 28-year-old quarterback quickly reaching legendary status.Mahomes is only the sixth quarterback to win three Super Bowls and was selected MVP for all three and the youngest to do it. Hall of Famers Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw are within reach with four apiece. And given how quickly Mahomes has been stacking up those shiny Lombardi Trophies in Kansas City, it's hard to believe Bradys record of seven is untouchable.Mahomes is also closing on Brady's record of five Super Bowl MVPs; Montana is the only other player with three.I think Tom said it best: Once you win that championship, you have those parades and you get those dreams, youre not the champion anymore. You have to come back to that with the same mentality, Mahomes said. "And I learned from guys like that that have been the greatest of all time. The Chiefs are the first repeat Super Bowl champions since Brady and the Patriots in 2003 and 04, and their third title in four trips over the past five years puts them in rarified air. Only four teams have won three championships in a five-year span.Asked whether the Chiefs have achieved dynasty status, Mahomes replied: Its the start of one.He comes to work https://www.timberwolvesprostore.com/minnesota-timberwolves-jeresy/rondae-hollis-jefferson-jersey every day humble. He comes to work every day wanting to be great," said the Chiefs' Andy Reid, who became the fifth coach with at least three Super Bowl wins. An absolute pleasure to coach. In truth, Mahomes struggled for much of the game Sunday, especially because the 49ers refused to bring the blitz, which the two-time league MVP tears apart with ease. But he started to heat up in the fourth quarter, when he drove Kansas City for a field goal to tie it at 16 with 5:46 left, then when he drove for another field goal that sent the game to overtime.Impre sive stuff from a quarterback who had surprisingly struggled in the clutch this season. Mahomes was just 18 of 47 for 167 yards with no touchdowns and an interception with a chance to tie or take the lead in the fourth quarter or overtime.I dont think Pat knows how to lose, Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice said.Mahomes celebrated winning by sprinting like mad into the end zone. He wheeled around, his helmet held aloft, and headed all the way back to Kansas City's sideline, where he fell onto the yellow-painted turf. With nobody around Mahomes for the briefest of moments, he stared into the sky in what seemed to be an exhausting mixture of elation and disbelief. As if anyone should have any reason not to believe in Mahomes by now. We've got the best quarterback in the league, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce said.Mahomes finished the Super Bowl with 333 yards pa sing and two TDs, and he extended his franchise record for yards rushing in the playoffs with 66 more. The head-scratching interception he threw into heavy coverage early in the game was forgotten by the time he hit Hardman in the end zone, sending red and yellow confetti raining down inside Allegiant Stadium. Also forgotten were all the lo ses and lousy games Kansas City had this season. The Chiefs were largely juggernauts during their previous Super Bowl runs, romping through the playoffs with ease even if they had to come from behind in the finale to beat the 49ers in 2000 and the Eagles last year. But they struggled mightily this season, losing five of eight games during one stretch, and dropped all the way to the No. 3 seed in the playoffs. They had to beat Miami in the fourth-coldest game in NFL history in the wild-card round. Then they hit the road to beat second-seeded Buffalo and No. 1 seed Baltimore, before knocking off another No. 1 seed in the 49ers on Sunday.I hope people remember not only the greatne s we have on the field, but the way we've done it, Mahomes said. "I feel like we enjoy it every single day. We have fun. We play hard. It's not always pretty, but we fight to the very end.I know there's some fatigue sometimes with one team winning, he said, but we just try to enjoy it. We try to enjoy it.___AP Super Bowl coverage: https://www.timberwolvesprostore.com/minnesota-timberwolves-jeresy/ashton-hagans-jersey

  • What direction do Arsenal take no
    D delmermollie 0

Its been made clear that there is a clear divide amongst Arsenal fans, https://www.shopwarriorsedge.com/golden-state-warriors-jeresy/alen-smailagic-jersey for and against Wenger. Surely if Arsenal beat Chelsea to the final top four position then this season will be somewhat a good season, but.. could it all have been so different? Who do you blame? Board or Manager? If Arsenal had reinvested the money from the sales of Nasri and Fabregas into Mario Gotze and Juan Mata, how would this season have panned out, now a lot of you will be sitting there thinking why didnt Wenger do this! why doesnt he spend money! Take this into account, the board have a tight wage structure, they will not let Wenger offer more than 80k a week, the reason, Phil Jones, Juan Mata and Ashley Young did not sign for Arsenal, so please can someone explain to me who Wenger signs that will change the team that will take under 80k a week and wont get better offers elsewhere, in the current climate 80k a week really is not that much if youre a top four side. How can Arsenal change this? Why us? you may be thinking, well the board believe that all first team players deserve near the same wages, so players like, Chamakh, Squillaci, Diaby, Rosicky, Djourou, Park, Almunia, Fabianski are all sitting on extremely high wages. Van Persie is on around 60k a week and Rosicky on around 55k a week, how does that work? Im asking now, because how in my opinion the best striker in the world can be on basically the same wage as a average midfielder at the same club is beyond me.Surely if Arsenal sold all the dead wood and we all know what players they are, they will shift around 400k a week of wages maybe even more, enough to offer Van Persie a big contract, sign two world cla s players, Eden Hazard and Mario Gotze rings a bell get another defender, Jan Vertonghen and a back up striker who is reliable, that im not to sure of, but thats spending what 75m? which sounds a lot but there will be a lot of departures this summer. Personally I would like to see Theo Walcott leave, he has a good game once in a blue moon and there would be a lot of interested parties and I think he would gain a 20m transfer fee.Obviously I sound like a typical fan telling his team what should be done, but personally I feel it all makes sense, a more potent attack with a better end product and a much more reliable defence, no brainer in my opinion. We will see but I feel all the blame should be taken off Wenger unle s you can think off a world cla s player who would join for under 80k a week? I highly doubt your could.I would like to hear who you would like to be signed? and who to be sold. Thanks for reading opinions are very welcome. https://www.shopwarriorsedge.com/golden-state-warriors-jeresy/kevon-looney-jersey

  • Robert Woods trade grades Titans pick up WR from Rams in low-risk high-reward mov
    D delmermollie 0

The Rams' signing of Allen Robinson made some of the other wide receivers on their roster expendable. It appears that Robert Woods was first on the chopping block.Woods, who tore his ACL the week the Rams landed Odell Beckham Jr. last year, was traded to the Titans on Saturday for a sixth-round pick in the 2023 draft, per NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. According to Rapoport, the Rams .Its a 2023 6th rounder to the for WR Robert Woods, source said. Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) Woods' contract has four years and $65 million ($32 million guaranteed) remaining https://www.shopsunsedge.com/phoenix-suns-jeresy/jalen-lecque-jersey on it. After signing Robinson to a three-year contract worth $46.5 million, keeping Woods on the roster wasn't an option for LA. That reduced the Rams' negotiating power.FREE AGENCY TRACKER: The Sporting News grades the trade for both teams:For Tenne see, the trade isn't as much about what they gave up as it is what it inherited. The Julio Jones experiment didn't work out, so the Titans traded for a younger model. Woods will be 30 in April, and he may not come up to speed as he comes off his ACL injury. If the move doesn't work out, they'll be on the hook for a lot of money for a long time. The upside is that Woods is a great fit in the Titans' offense. He's one of the better run-blocking receivers in the league and was on pace for close to 1,000 yards last season before his injury. Ultimately, he was the odd man out on a Rams team that won Super Bowl 56 without him.Los Angeles is punting on a player who gave it a lot. A team would hope to get more in return for a player like Woods than a future sixth-rounder, but the bottom line is Woods was a redundancy on the roster and other teams knew it.Woods will make the Titans' offense better if he's healthy, and that'll be a hard pill for LA to swallow. This was a salary dump, something a defending Super Bowl champion would generally try to avoid. The only victory here is the Rams didn't have to attach a pick to move Woods, but it's a pyrrhic victory. Related Articles https://www.shopsunsedge.com/phoenix-suns-jeresy/mikal-bridges-jersey

  • Saints to Winners Are Southampton turning the corne
    D delmermollie 0

This weekends Premier League was one of firsts: Rafa Benitezs first game in charge of Chelsea, a hat-trick for Wigans Jordi Gomez and most perhaps surprisingly, a clean sheet for Southampton. After what can be best be described as a difficult to start to life back in the top flight for the St. Marys club, the post-match musings of Nigel Adkins are becoming more believable by the week.Southamptons turbulent start to the season https://www.shopspursedge.com/san-antonio-spurs-jeresy/lamarcus-aldridge-jersey where two cruel 3-2 defeats to the Manchester clubs were followed by a period where The Saints defence was charitable to say the least, had started to make something of a mockery of the managers blind faith in his team.Yet after easily the teams most impre sive performance of the season so far, maybe Adkins will be laughing last after all. Sundays 2-0 succe s over a toiling Newcastle United secured consecutive wins for the south-coast-side for the first time this season. Although the resounding nature of this win and that of the previous weeks 3-1 away triumph at QPR, will almost be as comforting as the points themselves.Even during their miserable run at the beginning of the season, it was apparent that Southampton could produce pa sages of admirable, attacking play.In Rickie Lambert they have Grant Holt Mk. II a previously lower league player, seizing his chance to play at a higher level who combines well with co stars: Jason Puncheon, a sharp and direct winger and Adam Lallana, a clever manipulator of the ball. Sunday also signalled the belated landing of marquis signing Gaston Ramirez whose energy coupled with effectivene s in po se sion, was a joy to behold.Unlike in previous outings this season, the contributions of The Saints adventurous forward-line werent in vein as the back four and midfield pre sed a lethargic Newcastle into submi sion. As a result the Magpies enjoyed just four attempts on target all afternoon.Adkins cited the players hard-work on the training ground as the key to his side losing their clean-sheet virginity and the general upturn in fortunes. But surely the resolution of the clubs goalkeeping conundrum has also provided rea surance to Southamptons often flustered defenders. With Kelvin Davis credentials as a Premier League keeper undetectable and Artur Boruc picking ill-conceived fights with his own fans, the emergence of Paulo Gazzaniga has provided solace. One particularly excellent save from Vurnon Anita suggests the young Argentinian has a promising future, a future in which Southampton will aim to push up the league table. And with Norwich at home in mid-week, maybe The Saints can go marching on. https://www.shopspursedge.com/san-antonio-spurs-jeresy/tim-duncan-jersey
