When considering a different type of wig configuration, your choice essentially hinges on how natural your hairline needs to appear in close proximity. The classic style of front lace wigs uses a solid brown or transparent lace base over the forehead, allowing you the versatility of multiple partings and a natural hairline appearance.

The HD lace has the opposite effect, where it uses a paper-like and very super-fragile lace type so it melts directly into your skin colour and can have a seamless, undetectable hairline even under bright lights and tight examination, but one major drawback of HD lace is how extremely fragile the material can be, and it rips very easily, meaning the lace would not last as long

Whether a conventional front lace wig is better than HD lace truly comes down to personal preference, and also to what is most important for you to achieve. So if it's just a subtle, undetectable, low-maintenance wig for everyday wear, front lace is generally your better option. However, if it is about a totally believable, real look in photos and events/videos, then HD Lace is it.
