When purchasing raw hair bundles, understanding how much hair you need is key to a flawless, natural-looking result that will leave no one guessing whether you have extensions in. Raw hair is unprocessed, meaning the density depends on the person to whom the hair belonged. Hence, it is crucial to know the amount of hair needed in case of different lengths and textures.

Usually, for the most common strand lengths, such as 12-16 inches, 2-3 bundles are enough for a beautiful and dense look. For lengths between 18 and 24 inches, you may need 3-4 bundles due to the strands’ thinness at the ends, so the result will remain consistent along the whole length. For orders of 26 inches and more, it is better to choose 4 or more bundles since the longer the strand is, the less dense the appearance will be.

Moreover, the density of your desired outcome depends on the texture of your raw hair. Straight strands and those with a loose wave pattern will require more hair to achieve a dense and voluminous look, while coarse hair and tight curls will have a naturally thicker look. Remember that you may need more bundles if you are going to use closure or frontal pieces, as they take up space on your scalp, hence reducing the density of the rest of your wig.
