    Hi everyone,

I’m looking for iron patches here in Ireland and I’m finding it harder than expected. I have a few projects on the go: putting a patch on my kid’s school bag, refreshing an old denim jacket, and adding a logo to some work hoodies. I want something that looks neat and actually stays on, not a patch that peels off after the first wash.

Most of what I’ve found online is either generic stock designs or shipped from overseas with delivery times of several weeks. I’d much rather order from someone based in Ireland, ideally with the option to get a custom design made rather than picking from a catalogue.

If you’ve bought iron-on patches before, I’d love some advice on a few things:

Do iron patches really hold up in the wash, or should I sew around the edges as well?
Are they suitable for all fabrics, or should I avoid using them on leather, nylon, or stretchy materials?
What temperature and pressing time work best so I don’t scorch the clothing?
Is it worth paying extra for a custom design, and roughly how much should I expect per patch?
Is there usually a minimum order, or can I buy just one or two?
How long does a typical custom order take from design to delivery?
Any tips for removing an iron patch later without damaging the fabric?

I’d also appreciate recommendations for reliable Irish suppliers, and any warnings about ones to avoid. If you have photos of your finished projects, I’d love to see them to get a sense of what’s realistic.

Thanks in advance, any honest advice (good or bad) is welcome!
