Light duty pallets for retail display – what's your experience?

I manage a small supermarket chain in Sharjah and we're looking to upgrade our in-store product display setup. We currently use basic wooden pallets for stacking promotional items and beverage cartons, but honestly they look terrible and customers sometimes complain about splinters.
