How often should a GMC get a brake check? I never do mine
-
I have driven my GMC Acadia for six years, and I just realised I have never asked anyone to look at the brakes unless they started making noise. The car has about a hundred and ten thousand kilometres, and nothing feels wrong right now. Last week a colleague told me his pads wore out before he heard a single sound, and that made me nervous. I live in Dubai and drive about forty minutes each way in heavy traffic, so the brakes get a lot of use in the heat. I looked online for some Quick GMC brake maintenance in Dubai, but every page said fast and cheap, so I still do not know what a normal check includes or how often it should be done. Is a brake check something I should do every six months, once a year, or only at each service? Does the shop measure the pad thickness and the discs, or just look through the wheel? Should the brake fluid be changed on a schedule, and how often? Is a quick check free at some places, or do they charge for it? Can I do a simple look myself between visits? If you keep a routine for your brakes, please tell me what you do, how often, and what it costs. Easy answers help me most.
