I'm searching for qualified agencies with experience in creating visually interesting and engaging branding for our upcoming product launch. I've now seen about half of the potential candidates and they are all/very similar in style. They almost all feature the exact same heavy dark-mode layouts, abstract floating 3D shapes, and vague headers that say things like "we disrupt global paradigms."
It feels incredibly ironic that companies specializing in unique brand positioning and market differentiation struggle so much to stand out on their own homepages. When exploring high-end creative agency websites, I'm looking for evidence of their competency as an agency, their ability to tell a story visually and "in real life", and a well-written, "descriptive" case study with actual numbers related to the project. What I'm finding instead is mostly "soul-less, faceless", corporate walls desperately attempting to portray themselves as aesthetically pleasing. If there are any agency owners or web designers who chat here, please provide your thoughts. Are you intentionally designing sites to fit a specific tech aesthetic, or is everyone just afraid to take a real creative risk? Let's discuss.
